"Glory be to God"

The 19th century artist Georgiana Houghton created work intended to express the reality to her of the presence of angels.

"The golden moments in the stream of life rush past us and we see nothing but sand; the angels come to visit us, and we only know them when they are gone." --George Eliot (1819-1880)

  1. Gorgeous, I most appreciate this posting. Fantastic selections of writing and art. I enjoy how you often depict the angels with instruments, though this is nice because it relays an instance of musical vibration in paint as a resonance with the angelic and the experience of all things heavenly, though without denying the transforming of our human sight as we perceive such glory.
